"Greetings, I am Gracis. I never expected you to choose me," Gracis greeted politely as he walked into the room and sat behind a long table. "Frankly speaking, this is my first attempt at divination. I don't have much experience yet, so for now, I am not considered a good seer. You still have time to reconsider."
Klein returned the greeting and followed inside, closing the door behind him.
He smiled as he looked through the light that filtered through the curtain and replied, "You are indeed honest. But I am someone who sticks firmly to my choices."
"Please sit," Gracis pointed towards a seat across from him and thought for a few seconds before adding, "Divination is just a hobby of mine, hahaha. People often receive guidance from divine beings in their lives, but ordinary people can't accurately interpret the divine will. That's what divination means to exist and why I joined this club. In this regard, I am not yet confident enough. Let's treat our next session as a free exchange. How does that sound? The fee for the club is on me, just one quarter of a penny."
Klein did not say yes or no but instead smiled, "It seems you have a respectable job."
As he spoke, his body leaned slightly forward and his right hand made a fist pressing against his forehead as it tapped twice.
"But that won't improve my accuracy," Gracis responded humorously, pondering further. "Do you have a headache? Do you want to read about your health?"
"A little, I hope to find the location of an item." Klein had already prepared this excuse and leaned back in his seat. In his eyes, Gracis's aura was clearly visible—his lungs glowed orange but dimly and thinly, affecting the overall brightness.
This isn't a sign of fatigue... Klein nodded imperceptibly.
"Looking for a lost object?" Gracis thought for a few seconds before saying, "Then let's conduct a simple assessment first."
He pushed a stack of neatly arranged tarot cards towards Klein. "Relax and think about the item in your mind while repeating 'Can I still find it?' out loud. Meanwhile, shuffle and cut the deck."
"Sure," Klein had no recollection of the old notebook, so he mentally expanded on what to repeat: Can I still find the Antigonus family's notebook?
As he repeated this, he skillfully shuffled and cut the cards.
Gracis picked a card from the top and placed it horizontally in front of Klein. "Turn it clockwise until it stands upright. If it shows in reverse—meaning the image on the card faces you backward—it means that item cannot be found anymore. Otherwise, we continue with our reading to locate its exact whereabouts."
Klein followed the instructions and turned the card clockwise so it stood vertically.
He took hold of the edge of the card and flipped it over.
The card showed a "Fool" figure in reverse position!
Another "Fool"? This is just too coincidental... According to Neil's and the Hanged Man's interpretations, divination is about communicating with a higher self through spiritual and divine means. The tarot cards are merely tools for interpreting symbolic revelations; theoretically, any item can be used for divination without affecting the outcome. Klein frowned slightly as he considered it.
